Dr. Angela Birr

Dr. Angela Birr grew up and spent most of her life in Minnesota, just a short drive outside of the Twin Cities. She knew she wanted to be a veterinarian since she was very young, and started volunteering with snakes, turtles, and shelter dogs as a teenager. She attended the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in animal science in 2019, working at a small animal and exotics clinic during that time as an assistant. The summer after graduation, she also began work in the detention barn of a standardbred harness racetrack, and as a student technician in the University’s clinical pathology lab. She attended and graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2023.

In August 2023, she moved to Illinois to join the team here at Companion Round Lake. Her clinical interests include preventative medicine, cardiology, ultrasound, and exotics medicine. Outside of work, she enjoys videogames, finding new shows to watch, attending concerts, and drawing.
